All three are great choices. Just one more hurdle and then the fun begins.

What the people of Wise County have been saying for a few years has come about. BSG gets a new school, Wise gets a new school, and Coeburn gets a new school. Those 5 board members did just what they said they would not. They have not been fair to the community of St. Paul, Pound, or Appalachia. According to Mr. Bob Adkins in the Kingsport paper for each million borrowed will result in the county paying back a million and a half. If my calculations are right that means 3 new schools at 33 million each is 99 million. Site development at the new Pound/Wise school 6.71 million, Appy/Pv school 4.57 million, and St. Paul/Coeburn school 6.83 million. That added together is around $117.11 million and according to Bob Adkins add another 58.5 million. I am not the smartest person in the world but that is a total of 175.61 million over 20 years which would be around 730,000 per month or 8.76 million per year. When did Wise County become the rich kid on the block?
Appy is not 4 lane assesable so I do not think anyone should have expected a school to be built there
The Wise/Pound location does favor Wise but is IMHO a good site
The Coeburn/StPaul location leaves me scratching my head and seems a little more like a Coeburn/Norton Location
As far as the money goes I don't think anyone can dispute that with falling enrollments that keeping 6 schools open makes any type of finatual sence
We'll keep the lights on for you.
Spuds
I want somebody to show me what the average increase in property taxes were by town. I think it might put an end to some of this the people of Appy will pay to, they will, but I wager the property taxes in Wise and Big Stone Gap went up more than those in Appalachia and Pound.
